Scientific Seminar: Climate and Health – Projects CLIMOS, PLANET4HEALTH, and ISMED-CLIM

Published 06-12-2024

The Institute for Medical Research is hosting a Scientific Seminar on December 13, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM.

The Seminar will explore how habitat changes and behavioral adaptations of tropical disease carriers, like mosquitoes and sand flies, are reshaping global health risks.

Dr. Suzana Blesić, Head of the Group for Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, and Physics of Complex Systems, will present three ongoing Horizon Europe projects from the Institute for Medical Research: CLIMOS, PLANET4HEALTH, and ISMED-CLIM, which she is actively leading and collaborating on.

These projects aim to enable citizens to make informed decisions about their health and enhance the capacity of health professionals and public health systems by providing new knowledge based on accurate data linking climate change, environmental conditions, and the emergence of new diseases.

In discussing key topics and the latest information, the focus will be on scientific innovations, the use of new methodologies, and connecting with collaborators from other research fields.

The Scientific Seminar will be held in a hybrid format, in the Institute’s library, and via Microsoft Office Teams platform. No registration is required.
