On the January 24th Dr. Leonid Livshits gave the lecture on the topic „Glucose uptake and metabolism by human red blood cells: From basics to the concept of multi-level biomarker for detecting early pathological events “, and presented results of his research of erythrocytes and hemoglobin, conducted in Red Blood Cell Research Group, Institute of Veterinary Physiology, University of Zürich, Switzerland and Pediatric Hematology Unit, Emek Medical Center, Afula, Israel.
Dr. Livshits stayed in our Institute from 21 to 25 January, and in addition to giving the lecture, he visited the laboratories of our Institute and discussed with researchers from our Institute, but also with researchers from other SRO, about the possibilities of future joint research of hemoglobin and erythrocytes in physiological state and pathological conditions.
