Colleague Dr. Nikola Prvulović more than successfully defended his doctoral dissertation with the topic “The effects of plyometric programs on the biomechanical parameters of female athletes „ and presented very significant results.

The defense of the doctoral dissertation took place in the ceremonial hall of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Niš on 29 March 2024. The results of the dissertation also presented data on tensiomyographic parameters, which one part were measured at our Institute for Medical Research.

Results of doctoral dissertation reflected in the new experimental approach of favoring the pseudo-plyometric depth-landing exercise based on eccentric contractions in combination with plyometric exercises to achieve the maximum utilization of the invested effort and progress for the invested time period of training.

Original scientific-theoretical contribution and practical application of the doctoral dissertation is taking advantage of the neuromuscular system activation by the eccentric exercises with maximal unwilling contraction which are in combination with the plyometric method of training give largest progress of motoric ability development of the speed and explosive strength of the lower extremities.
