Medical Entomology Lab featured on national science show

Published 13-06-2025

Researchers from the Medical Entomology Laboratory at the Institute for Medical Research were recently featured in two segments of Scientific Portal, a science-focused show aired on RTS 2, Serbia’s national public broadcaster. The segments highlighted the lab’s main research areas, focusing on TalkToTick, a project funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia through the PRIZMA program.

TalkToTick tracks ticks and the pathogens they carry, aiming to improve our understanding of the public health risks associated with vector-borne diseases. In addition to field and lab-based research, the project engages the public through citizen science, allowing for broader data collection and raising awareness about the importance of vector surveillance.

Appearing on national television is an important step in connecting science with the public and sharing research that can directly impact disease prevention and public health.
