The IMR-developed M2BoostHEM platform, designed to stabilize hemoglobin and improve iron bioavailability, was presented at the 68th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements.
Featured as part of the Government of the Republic of Serbia’s exhibition, held under the slogan “Play for Humanity! Science for All – Technology and Innovation Shape the Future,” the project was showcased alongside research organizations, science and technology parks, startups, companies, and public- and private-sector institutions from across Serbia’s innovation ecosystem.
M2BoostHEM focuses on developing a functional ingredient based on stabilized hemoglobin, with potential applications in products aimed at the prevention and treatment of anemia. Its research framework is built around a controlled, reproducible process that makes it possible to monitor and adapt the ingredient’s properties across different formulation types.
“Events like this help bring scientific results out of the lab and into conversations about real-world application. With M2BoostHEM, we are showing how biomedical research can be turned toward a functional ingredient with clear potential for industry collaboration,” said Dr. Ivana Drvenica.
Potential applications include direct oral use, dietary supplements, and pharmaco-nutritional formulations. The presentation at the Fair of Technics gave IMR an opportunity to show how biomedical research can feed into health-focused innovation and strengthen the bridge between science and industry.
