Institute for Medical Research Awards Annual Honors for Scientific Excellence

On December 26, the Scientific Committee of the Institute for Medical Research presented its annual awards to researchers for their outstanding scientific achievements in 2025.

 

The “Dr. Jovan Vučo” Award for the best scientific research paper was presented to Jelena Milešević, Milica Zeković, Ivana Šarac, Marija Knez, Irena Krga, Marija Takić, Jasmina Debeljak Martačić, Vuk Stevanović, Nevena Vidović, and Slavica Ranković from the Group for Nutrition and Metabolism, for their paper “Energy and macronutrient dietary intakes of Serbian adults aged 18–64: EFSA EU Menu food consumption survey in Serbia (2017–2022)”, published in Foods.

 

The same award was granted to the team from the Group for Nutritional Biochemistry and Dietology, including Milena Žuža Praštalo, Biljana Pokimica, Aleksandra Arsić, and Vesna Vučić for their paper “Current evidence on the impact of diet, food, and supplement intake on breast cancer health outcomes in patients undergoing endocrine therapy”, published in Nutrients.

 

The “Dr. Vera and Dr. Dušan Kentera” Award for young researcher was presented to Đorđe Zlatković for his paper “N-(9-acridinyl) amino acid derivatives: Synthesis and in vitro evaluation of anti-Toxoplasma gondii activity”, published in Pharmaceutics.

 

Through these recognitions, the Institute for Medical Research affirms its commitment to scientific excellence and to fostering a strong, interdisciplinary research community.
