The Institute for Medical Research hosted Dr. Gülşah Kaner Tohtak, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Faculty of Health Sciences, İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, as part of the Erasmus+ teaching mobility program.
During her stay at IMR, Dr. Kaner Tohtak delivered a lecture within the Scientific Seminar series titled “Inflammatory pain and diet.” The lecture addressed the relationship between diet, inflammation, and chronic pain, with a focus on anti-inflammatory dietary patterns, including the Mediterranean diet.
Dr. Kaner Tohtak also presented the FOODPATH Horizon Europe project, where she serves as the national coordinator for Turkey, working to improve policies that support healthier food environments.
IMR researchers presented the laboratory capacities and research activities of the Group for Nutritional Biochemistry and Dietology, supporting knowledge exchange and future collaboration.
