Dr. Gorana Veinović from the Group for Medical Entomology at the Institute for Medical Research, and work package lead on the TalkToTick project, visited Sarajevo (BiH) as part of the bilateral collaboration between IMR and the Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Sarajevo (INGEB).

Dr. Veinović presented the TalkToTick project during her visit to INGEB, where she delivered a lecture titled “TalkToTick Project – To What Extent Do Ticks Pose a Risk to Human Health?”

The lecture provided an overview of current evidence on tick biology and ecology, their vector capacity, and associated public-health risks, while emphasizing the importance of education and prevention of vector-borne infections.

The event was documented by the Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT), which prepared a segment for the Nova Avantura program, scheduled for broadcast after the New Year. Following the lecture, BHRT also recorded an interview focusing on the TalkToTick project, its research priorities, and the relevance for public health.
The visit was carried out within the IMR–INGEB partnership, aimed at strengthening regional scientific exchange, connecting research teams, and advancing joint initiatives in entomology, molecular biology, and biotechnology.
